Organisations hiring Cloud Infrastructure Architects use a variety of cloud services, such as AWS and Azure. The primary responsibility of architects is to plan, design and assist with the implementation of cloud services.
Architects should understand how to model cloud architectures, and they need to provide expertise on designing and developing its infrastructure. The following are the standard job responsibilities of Cloud Infrastructure Architects:
To deliver proof-of-concept types of projects
To lead the implementation of projects
To define enterprise cloud strategies
To analyse application portfolios
To develop customer solutions, such as web applications and enterprise applications
To identify dependencies and common infrastructure components, and to assess migration feasibility
To build on-premise solutions for clusters and patterns
To evaluate and monitor cloud migration road maps, and to drive acceptance across complex organisation structures
Cloud Infrastructure Architects develop and implement cloud solutions across a diverse range of projects, which can include application development, identity/access management, network, and data management. They also often work in coordination with other departments to implement changes to architecture, and they need to communicate well with other organisational teams and must support them in their respective endeavors.
